Custom Theme Somtimes Dropped — Reverts to Default

  • I created a custom theme and I don’t know what’s going on but sometimes if I am editing the style sheet, and I refersh the page, it drops the stylesheet — and sometimes it drops the theme all together and reverts back to the default, Kubrick. If I going into the theme editor and reselect my custom theme it returns, but what is causing this?

    I tried to remove the default theme folder for the theme folder but then it happened again only this time when it dropped my custom theme it just went to a white screen.

    Any thoughts?

  • I’ve had this happen too… Usually for me, it happens when I try to refresh the site too quickly after FTP’ing a modified file to the web server. Seems that the given file is not completely available to Apache, and when WP can’t access it, it falls back to default theme. I ran into the white screen issue as well. So. I just deal w/ it with the comfort that a visitor is not going to run into the issue, since it only seems to happen when I’m in development mode and in a hurry ??
