Custom URL JPG image as Header Image for Twenty Seventy?

  • Hi
    I want to use an image I am hosting outside of my WordPress directory as my main page header image.
    How do I tell WordPress where this image is located please?

    I can only see options to add a new image or select one I have uploaded to WordPress before. I cant find a way to tell the system what URL to use instead.
    Any thoughts?

  • Hi, Twenty seventeen does not offer such an option out of the box. But this plugin may work for you.

    However a bit of advice (to anyone reading this as OP mentions directory) here that hotlinking from other people’s website is illegal.

    Hi. Apologies for the delay.
    This doesnt add anything so I can input a URL when I’m at
    Appearance>Customize>Header Image

    Any further thoughts please?
