• I have attempted to submit a support email for the premium version but have not heard back in over a week.

    Issue:

    I’m running AAM and the Premium Add-On and the capability settings and metaboxes/widget settings aren’t copying over properly when I’m copying a custom role to create a new custom role. I just updated on my staging to the latest version of both plugins and this is still happening. I tried enabaling the setting for “multiple roles support” per the chatbox suggestion and that didn’t work either. Please advise if this is a known bug and how it can be fixed. I can provide access to my staging website or screenshots if that’s helpful.

    @lauramartin, hm. When you select to “clone” a role, the only thing that AAM does is pre-populates the “Inherit Capabilities From” drop-down. This allows to copy only capabilities to newly created role.

    In the current AAM version you can only either copy capabilities form another role or make that role as a parent role. There is no functionality to clone also settings.

    We may consider addition this feature in the next AAM release 6.9.35 or 7.0.0

    @lauramartin we are adding this feature https://github.com/aamplugin/advanced-access-manager/issues/406. It appears to be a bug when premium add-on is enabled.

    @vasyltech OK thanks, yes it’s definitely a bug because I used to be able to have everything cloned including capabilities and metaboxes/widget settings. I’m not sure when it broke as it’s been a while since I needed to clone a user type.

    @vasyltech I just tested the latest AAM/Pro updates and it looks like the metaboxes/widget settings are now copying but the capabilities still aren’t.

    @vasyltech I am still having issues with copying capabilities. I have sent emails to support with no response.
