Custom video-thumbnails?

Hi Martin,
Thank you for the post. As already stated on the other post, Image extraction from video needs some software like FFMPEG(or alternatives).

It does not fall in general case as most of the shared sites don’t have it.

We understand the need for the VPS/Dedicated hosted sites and we are working on it. It is not high on our priority list though. So, to be honest, It will take us anything between 4-6 weeks to make it available.

thanks for getting back to me. I was also thinking about FFMPEG, which seems a good solution. This plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/video-embed-thumbnail-generator/ is a good resource, but I am not sure how well it is integrated in buddypress. I am fine to pay for a solid pro plugin. HD in player (switch between different encodes) or even smooth streaming is desirable. Please let me know, when an update is available. As mentioned. a purchasable version with pro features is fine.

Thank you. I had looked at the plugin while planning.
At the moment our biggest challenge seems to maintaining a reliable queue for conversion without adding dependency on another software.

Will certainly get back to you once we are ready with it ??
