    Hi there,

I’ve noticed elsewhere that you use Stripe Connect, and “We can view log data for our merchants, which is huge in terms of time saving and troubleshooting,”

Please could you explain what this means for data protection purposes. What is in this log data? Are you able to see merchants’ customer data?

    Thanks

    Hi @tufty

Please could you explain what this means for data protection purposes.

All the log data that is viewable to us is stored with Stripe which means we only have access to the log entries through Stripe.

What is in this log data

It’s API requests made from your site to Stripe. Stripe stores this information in their system for troubleshooting purposes.

Are you able to see merchants’ customer data?

There are certain requests logged by Stripe which do capture things like billing address information. Payment information is never stored by Stripe in logs. As a Stripe Verified Partner we are contractually bound to never share data. If that is a concern of yours it’s important that you choose a Stripe Verified Partner such as ourselves. We are based in the United States which means we are also legally bound by US laws regarding data protection. Again, this is information that Stripe stores and has access to.

Stripe strongly encourages the use of Stripe Connect due to its increased security. In fact, our contract with Stripe specifies that our solution must use Stripe Connect.

    Kind Regards
