This is a strange problem that doesn’t happen all the time. Here is issue:
    1. We don’t allow customers to create an account and as far as I know we have eliminated the ability for them to do so.
    2. Non-registered customers can place an order (nature of the business)
    3. On some orders the customer info is inserted into the user account for the shop manager overwriting the shop manager’s name BUT NOT overwriting the user account email or password.
    4. All customer address, email and phone numbers, etc. are inserted into the shop manager user account “customer billing” and “customer shipping” address fields in the “users” area.
    5. Admin role is not affected.
    6. Seems to only affect “shop manager” role.

Actually we don’t need customer billing and shipping address fields in the user area since we don’t use them to create any accounts but we would still have the problem of user name being overwritten in the role section.

Have I missed a setting or found a peculiar bug?

The really strange thing is that I’ve tried doing it myself when I’m logged out, going through the ordering process to see it would overwrite the shop manager info with my own but it doesn’t. I’m at a loss.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @sunkissmarc

Pre WooCommerce 3.4.6, Shop Managers were allowed to edit all roles except admins. This was much more permission than Shop Managers needed for their role. With version 3.4.6, Shop Managers can only edit users with the Customer role by default, and there is a whitelist of roles that Shop Managers can edit.

    Hope this helps,
