customer role profile issue

if I brows this page
mysite.com/author/mak/
then I have 2 cases
1- if mak has role = customer then the page will be redirected to shop page (wrong)
2- if mak has any other role then Mak’s UM profile page will be opened

would you please advise how to make if mak has customer role when click in this link to open his profile page
