    Hi,
I have a problem with this plugin in my store.
Customers are being added to my mailchimp list as unsubscribed users, even though they did checked the opt in checkbox in the checkout page or the registration page.
Does anyone know what can cause this problem which preventing me from connecting with my customers?
Also, is there another option to ask again these users who were added accidentally as unsubscribed users to opt in to my list as subscribed users?
    Thanks!

    Hey @edenkif,

Thanks for reaching out. I came across your question and wanted to chime in to see if I could help provide any troubleshooting assistance or pass any useful feedback to our developers.

Just to get a handle on the situation you’ve experienced so far, could you provide a few pieces of information to help me catch up?

    – What plugin version are you using?
    – Could you provide a screencast on this issue?
    – Is there any logging present in the plugin’s logs tab when it’s set to standard or debug?

Thanks in advance for these details. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

Hi @khungate and thank you for helping!
I’m using the latest version of the plugin mailchimp for woocommerce (2.1.5).
When a guest user finished the checkout process, new email address is added to the correct list in Mailchimp, but it isn’t marked as subscribed email but as usnubscribe email which can get only transactional emails.
By the way, the opt in checkbox is visible and checked by default.
In the logs section, from some reason, the plugin recognizes the successful checkout – as an abandoned cart – which is incorrect, the checkout proccess has been completed successfully.
    Attached log from the plugin:

    2018-04-11T13:41:56+00:00 NOTICE abandoned_cart.success :: email: [email protected] :: checkout_url: https://www…….
This email [email protected] was added to the list, after check out completed. Cart wasn’t abandoned at all, the checkout was completed successfully.
When the exactly same flow of purchase is made and a customer is willing to sign up to the site and registered, everything is correct and the email address is added sucessfully and marked as subscribed email.
Problem occur only when a guest user purchases.
Can you think what is the problem and why mailchimp recognizes the guest purchase as an abandoned_cart.success?
    Thanks!

@edenkif, thank you for providing those details. That is strange.

I’ve tried to test several times in our staging environment, and I’m unable to replicate things. Checking out as a guest (and opting in) flows to MailChimp as a ‘subscriber’ just fine. However, the fact that things are showing as abandoned makes me suspicious of the order queue being tripped up by either your hosting provider or something else.

Before we try to assume too much, can you try to simply uninstall/reinstall? Make sure when you do that, to check that your site is also removed from the ‘Connected Sites’ area of MailChimp. Once that’s done, place a test order and see if everything makes it through correctly.

If that doesn’t work, we’ll probably need to try the standard deactivating other plugins route to make sure there’s not a conflict somewhere.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

@edenkif, One more thing…what is the payment method you’re seeing this behavior?

Hi, @khungate I’ll try today to uninstall and reinstall the plugin to check what happens.

The payment method which I use is called go2pay, a plugin which connected to my clearing provider.

    Thanks

Thanks @edenkif, we appreciate the info. Ah, there’s likely a low-level hook we’re missing from go2pay telling Woo that the order has been received. We had that with PayPal (that’s been patched in our next release). We’ll continue to research on our side; stay tuned.

@edenkif just wanted to check back in and see if your plugin is acting correctly as of the newest release. If not, we would like to know whether or not the order data makes it over to MailChimp?

Also – if you are still experiencing the issue, could you please turn on your debug logs in the plugin and watch a few of the submissions go through? We would like to know if the subscriber status is set correctly.

Please email the results to [email protected] so it’s private.

@edenkif just wanted to ping you again on this ticket to see if you’ve had a chance to do any debugging. Please let us know the details when you get a chance.
