    Hi, I’ve got this plugin installed on a couple of sites but I’m not convinced it’s working so I’m trying it out on a fresh installation of WordPress/WooCommerce and a test Mailchimp account.

    What I’m finding is that even though the customer (me in this case) has the “subscribe to our newsletter” box ticked and they are added to my audience they don’t have the status as subscribed. Instead I get this message:
    This person is only eligible for transactional emails.

    Can anyone help with this please?

    Thanks for reaching out. Adding subscribers to your audience is essential, and I am happy to help out. If the customers have subscribed at checkout, verify that the customer has accepted marketing at checkout, you can see this by viewing the customer on the order. If mailchimp_woocommerce_is_subscribed is equal to 1 they opted in at checkout. You can see this in the Custom Fields (usually below the order details).

    If the customer is set to 1 as noted, do you have any other plugins that work with Mailchimp that could be impacting the subscriber status?

    Let us know if you have any additional questions, or need any further information.

    Thanks for your response.
    mailchimp_woocommerce_is_subscribed is showing as 1

    At the point of doing this test the only plugins I had installed were WooCommerce and Mailchimp for WooCommerce – so absolutely nothing else that would clash.

    @webfooted do you see anything in your logs at all that reference these emails being submitted? This sounds almost as if the Action Scheduler system isn’t properly running.

    Can you please confirm that you’ve got logs in our plugin that are referencing your customers in a current date?

    Also – there was a patch to the plugin just applied today but that wouldn’t impact this problem you’re referencing.

    Thanks Ryan, I’ve moved on from this plugin now. I’m using a different plugin which appears to be doing the job.

    Thanks for your help.

    @webfooted Which plugin are you using now? We have the same issue.

    @yournetgbr I’m using the paid version of MC4WP (https://www.mc4wp.com/).
