Customise HTML allowed in comments?

  • In WP 1.2.2 is it possible to customise what HTML you allow in comments? In particular, I just posted something on my blog with several code examples, and would like people commenting to be able to use pre without having that element replaced with a p and line breaks replaced with br and two line breaks replaced with p. I can hack the php myself if someone can give me a clue where to look—I’ve only been using WP for a short time and I’m still not familiar with the code base.

  • If you haven’t found it yet, the file you’re looking for is wp-includes/kses.php. Check out the $allowedtags array.
