    Good day,

    Is there way of customizing the donation total on the total box at the bottom to add 3% extra on top of what the value is.
    At the moment our payment provider is charging around 3% and this is getting minus from the total. We want the user to eb able to donate that extra amount.

    I need to add some code where it looks at the value and adds around 3% extra.
    I’m not a developer – looked at some Javascript coding and i can put the code in but needs to know where and how.

    Any help will be appreachiated

  • GiveWP’s Fee Recovery add-on does exactly what you are asking, but it is a paid add-on.

    If you consider purchasing this one add-on, you might look at their bundle of add-ons called the Plus Plan. If you are using Stripe as your payment gateway, you save an additional 2% on processing fees over the free Stripe gateway, recurring donations, PDF receipts, and much more.

    I am not a Stripe employee or affiliate … just a satisfied user on multiple sites.

    Hi @choudhmh,

    I agree with @oregondean suggestion. We don’t have a snippet handy to add a fee to the donation total but it would require some custom javascript and things can get out of hand quickly if you are not a developer. The add-on will save you a lot of time and headaches.

    Thank you for the replies, yes i’m using the fees recovery plug in. wanted to see if i can write the script myself and get the changes to happen depending on the value of currency. 1% for > ￡100, 3% for < ￡100 etc
