I am sorry if this is elsewhere, I can’t find a reference for this version.

Prior to updating to the latest version of woolcommerce, customised catorgory sort worked fine on the linked page. Now it is displaying them in ascending order (aphabetically)

Documentation suggested to go to “permalinks” and saving again. I have did that, though am uncertain if it the new install has changed something there.

I then updated wordpress to the latest version but still the customised categories do not work.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hey @sharonrobards do you have some more information for us?

What do you mean with customised category? On the page you’ve shared, what was there before and what is there now? How can we verify this problem?

The sort was a customised sort +products and went

    Paintngs
    Featured Product Collection
    Overseas Collectors
    Mini Seascape Series
    Somewhere Series of Paintings ect

It was done in the standard Woodcommerce category section

Product categories for your store can be managed here. To change the order of categories on the front end you can drag and drop to sort them. To see more categories listed click the “screen options” link at the top-right of this page.

Although the customised sort order is still showing in the back end, it has reverted to
    aphabetical in the front end.

Hey @sharonrobards – thanks; this clarification helps a lot. To summarise, on the backend, you’ve got a custom sorting of your categories, but on the frontend, it doesn’t follow that sorting.

I’ve had a look at your page and compared it with my test site. What you’ll see is that the page you’ve shared isn’t using the template that we can affect your store through:

This means one of two things: (1) this is a custom theme template and your theme has chosen not to follow the order you’re putting your categories in or (2) you’ve created this page using a plugin (like a page builder) and this is also not including the order.

In either case, given that it’s not following WooCommerce, there’s not much we can do from our side, and contacting your theme authors would be the first step forward with this. If I’m not mistaken, this is the place where you can get help for that: https://www.themegrill.com/themes/estore/

Thank you! Interesting, as the original template from themegrill did not have them customed sorted at the back end, though I sorted them, and bingo, it worked fine, until the update. I’ll contact them. Thanks!

Hey @sharonrobards – sounds good. I’ll mark this thread as resolved now but you can always open a new thread if you have other questions. Hope your issue gets sorted soon! ??
