• Just looking out for ways that WP can be customised so clients can access their web site and make updates?

I understand cpanel is an option but licensing is quite considerable – any other way this has been done by someone here and can share what has worked out well?

    Look forward to your input.

    Thanks.

  • What exactly do you mean by “Customize”?

WordPress allows you to create an unlimited number of user accounts out of the box with various roles and capabilities, so I don’t know why you need something else so “clients can access their websites and make updates”. That’s all built-in.

But, of course, it depends on what you mean by “customize” and what sort of “changes” you’re talking about.

Are you looking for something for managing your SERVER and creating HOSTING ACCOUNTS for your clients? That’s what WHM/cPanel is for.

    Hi @cguanaja

I understand that you want to give access to your clients to the WordPress background, so they can update the contents and customize some options. The easiest way to do this is creating a user with the appropriate permissions and login to the admin area with this user https://yoursite.test/wp-admin/ URL (change it with your domain).

Thanks for the input guys – appreciate your response.

@gappiah – I understand WHM/cPanel are there for managing SERVER and creating HOSTING ACCOUNTS for clients – will consider that in the future – do you know any other alternative that would be more cost effective?

@amieiro – this is what I meant and understand that’s how you give access to clients – what would be the role you can assign so clients can modify pages? I was thinking maybe there’s a plugin you can buy so accessing and modifying pages is made easier for clients? And even like a customised login page and then after that straight to pages you can assign so clients can edit them accordingly?

    Many thanks.

    Hi @cguanaja

You have a lot of open source alternatives to cPanel. Take a look at this search.

You can take a look at the Summary of Roles in the WordPress Roles and Capabilities webpage. To modify pages, I think the best role is editor.

You can customize the login page with some of these plugins. Take a look.
