Customize Button Results In Errors

    Clicking on the Customize button results in the following errors:

  • Hi there! A couple followup questions:

    1. Where are you clicking the Customize button? Assuming you’re using WordPress 5.9, block themes generally use the Site Editor for site customization, not the Customizer. As a result, most links to the Customizer will have been removed, unless you have a plugin installed that specifically makes use of the Customizer.

    2. Related to that, do you have any other plugins installed on the site? If so, have you tried this with those deactivated?

    Customize button on the active theme.

    Indeed, take me to /wp-admin/site-editor.php which displays:

    The editor has encountered an unexpected error.

    I clicked “copy error” it has shows the errors in original post.

    But you are right, I thought I had disabled all plugins, missed one, “WP Hardening” @ https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-security-hardening/ is at fault.

    Thought it was issued with this new theme as was not having the issue with 2016 wp theme.
