Customize CWP Top Products Widget

    Great plugin! I’ve updated to the PRO version and have almost everything working perfectly.

    I love the idea of a Top Products Widget, but the one included with WP Product Review leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve been able to modify it’s appearance using CSS, but I’d really like to add additional features and functionality. For example, I’d like change the image being displayed to the featured image from the post (not the product image). I’d also like to include a total number of reviews and some other info in the widget area.

    Is there a way for me to easily modify the existing widget, but prevent it from getting overwritten during a plugin update (ie: moving it to my child theme folder)? I’ve tried to duplicate the widget php file and change the name, along with all the important identifiers, but can’t seem to get a second (modified) widget to show up.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated ??

    Hello,

    Unfortunately there is no way to make customizations to plugins and keep them after update, but you can send us your suggestions and we’ll see what we can do about it and likely add them in our future updates.

    Is it possible to customize this widget to change the links for each product (I want to link directly to the external products). Now its linking internally to the product page.

    Hello Silvia,

    Unfortunately it’s not possible and I cannot think of an easy way to do it.
    Redirection would work, but then it will redirect all trafic going to that review page straight to external products which is not the desired effect.
