Customize dropdowns broken

  • Ever since the customisation moved to “Appearance -> Customize” (rather than having the separate theme settings page), I have had trouble setting my layouts. When I go to “Content -> Layout Options for the Main Content” the dropdowns don’t, uh, drop down. Only the current option is available, which means I can’t change my layout.

    I have disabled all my plugins to test this, as well as any browser add-ons and tried it in different browsers. Is anyone else having this problem?

    Hi Alex. Welcome to the Hueman forum. Don’t recall anyone else reporting this issue. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the theme? There is a new version here:
    https://github.com/presscustomizr/hueman/releases

    Should be in the w.org repository soon.

    Thanks, I’ll try it when it hits the wordpress repository. I’ve actually had this problem for weeks though – I think since 3.1 – and have already installed a couple of point upgrades hoping it would fix itself.

    I’m quite bewildered by this problem as I would imagine that if anyone had it, you’d definitely hear about it. But I’ve excluded just about everything I could think of and can’t find any likely culprit for weird plugin interactions etc. Gahhh!

    Oh, btw – in case it makes a difference, I am using WordPress Multisite. I have tested this on a standalone site (using MAMP) and don’t see this problem.

    And another thing – I noticed that the dropdowns don’t show the fancy styling that they’re meant to have, with the layouts displayed etc. I mention this just in case it helps with diagnosis somehow. Here’s a screenshot: https://imgur.com/RXYdH9k

    As I mentioned earlier I haven’t heard of anyone else with this issue, and I’m not running Multisite. There may be someone else here using Hueman on Multisite; perhaps they can answer. And, if you’re only seeing it on Multisite, then that’s where I’d focus. You might try asking your question on the Multisite forum:
