    Hi Guys,

So my customize page has suddenly stopped working. I am using a child theme. When I click to edit the footer the page just says loading…. and stays blank. It is not any of my plugins. I see there is a suggestion to switch to use the parent theme. When I click on live preview of parent theme it takes me to the customize page and seems to work and there is an option to activate it.

My concern is, what happens to any customizations that were done in the child theme? (I didn’t build the website from scratch and don’t know what has been done on it. Im a beginner) I have also updated to PHP 7.3. I feel like it stopped working after the latest WordPress update.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Romy

Sorry if the message is not clear. I am worried that if I activate parent theme to get my customization back that any changes made in child theme and plugins being used will no longer work.

If you switch from the child theme to the parent, any customizations applied to the child will be saved, but not in effect for the parent.

Let’s see if we can diagnose what’s going on with the child theme. Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this. Thanks. Note: Your link will be public and we will not later remove it.

    Hi Steve,

I cant get you to the customize page as you will have to log in, but this is the website:

I also have just seen there is an email I got from WordPress saying there was an error with Incubator Framework, which is my theme:

An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 11 of the file /usr/www/users/xxxx/wp-content/plugins/incubator-framework/import.php. Error message: Class ‘WP_Import’ not found

Does this have anything to do with it?

No, I do not want to login to your site. It seems like you have a plugin problem.

Because you’re using a commercial theme/plugin please use their official support channel. We feel they are best equipped to support their products.

Thanks Steve. I thought it might have something to do with WordPress update. Will get it sorted. Thanks for the speedy response.
