Customize function not saving

  • I’ve been trying to add another category to my primary menu, and every time I click “save and publish” in the customizer, it loads for a bit but does not change to “saved.” Other efforts to customize any changes are also unsuccessful. How should I make my customizations saveable again?

    Hi, first off as a test, go to Appearance > Menus in your dashboard and try adding the category there and save.

    Also, log out of your site and clear your browser cache and cookies and then log back in and try again.

    If that doesn’t do the trick, then disable all browser extensions/plugins and see if things work.

    Past that, it could be any issue with your WordPress installation. You can reinstall WordPress on your site at Dashboard > Updates and click on the Re-install Now button. I would suggest making a complete backup of your site through your web hosting control panel before doing that just in case something goes awry.
