• Hi
It’s been a couple of days since the LHS of Appearance >Customize page is not loading, hence I have no access to the editing features. Any idea what might cause this problem? Solutions?
    Thanks.

  • Re-upload a fresh, unpacked, copy of the theme’s folder to wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

Hi esmi, thanks for reaching out.
Being new to this, could you please instruct how I can do that? Also will I be losing my saved template if I did this?
    Thanks.

Please see the link I posted above.

Thanks esmi. Yes I saw the link, but was wondering if there were a how-to guide to walk me through the process in detail.
You think I will lose the site’s saved files in the process?
    Thanks.

Hi again. Thanks for bearing with me. Couldn’t figure out how to upload the theme folder with FTP, so I deleted the theme from my wp dashboard (which also deleted it in the cpanel) and reinstalled it back. However, nothing has changed and the problem is still unresolved. Any piece of advice?
    Thanks.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Hi esmi, thanks again for your continued support.
Actually I’ve already tried the first 2, but don’t really know how to do the other 2.

On a different note (maybe related), I created a static front page (home) and a postings page (blog). However, the blog page is displaying the home page. Do you think these 2 problems are related? If not, do you have any solution for this even more serious problem? Actually one of the reasons I uninstalled and reinstalled the theme was this. However, that didn’t help in resolving either.

    Thanks in advance.
