    Hi all,

Round 2 of fixing my million issues, I go into the customize part of my site where I can edit the theme, menu etc. I don’t actually get an error on this one as per but it’s a fault I can’t seem to find a solution for. Currently running the Shop Isle theme and GoDaddy keep saying it’s a problem with my theme but even when deactivating the theme and manually reinstalling I still have the same issue. I tried to change the Nav bar menu but it didn’t work so tried it with absolutely any chance in the customize section and when I click Publish it simple says the following:

Looks like something’s gone wrong. Wait a couple of seconds, and then try again.

Been happening for a little while now and after googling none of the solutions I found seem to have worked. Again GoDaddy say it’s a theme issue but did everything I could think of with the theme and nothing has worked.

  • Are you on WP. 5.2 or later?
If so, make sure you are using php 5.6 or 7.x.

Hope this helps. Once you find a solution please tag the thread as resolved.

WP version 5.2.2, PHP version 7.2. Can’t seem to get onto my hosting plan through GoDaddy, jsut says cannot loads your sites.

This is a hosting problem. If GoDaddy is unwilling to help it might be time to move to another hosting provider. You may also try contacting your theme’s developer. Since you have not provided a link to your site or the name of your theme there is not much we can do to help you any further.

Also just to add, I have copied the website to my local server and I’m not sure if goDaddy may have done something to the code/ scripts or anything because it basically worked before it went to godaddy and when i’ve copied it to my server it still doesn’t work…

Just to update, looked into this and I think I found the problem, although it’s not yet sorted the file permissions for the WP Core Files are incorrect, they are showing as 555 instead of 755. I cannot edit these and apparently GoDaddy cannot either because the client hasn’t paid for any form of WordPress management through the means of Plesk or cPanel. Hopefully the client will be able to upgrade their account to get this and I can edit the permissions.

Weird though because any error message didn’t say it was a file permission error it just said things like “Cannot process your request, please try again later”

The client does not need to update their account to get cPanel. It sounds like they are on the Managed WP Hosting that GoDaddy offers. All they need to do is renew that and then GoDaddy should be able to help them fix the file/folder permissions really quickly.

Just an update, this is still going on, I uploaded the files back to my server and it worked first time. Clients have escalated this with GoDaddy as all the support agents are giving conflicting information about what the issue is.

Will update with solution if this ever gets sorted.

Update – finally got this sorted but still don’t know what the issue was. Threatened to take my site away from GoDaddy to somewhere else and within about an hour or two everything suddenly started working… Very convenient in my opinion…
