Customized results page

Hello
I’d like to use a custom template as the results page but it seems only default search.php theme’s file is called.
I’m working with a child theme and I’m trying with my own search.php file, but I’ve not achieved it yet.
Could you tell me if is it possible to display the results in a custom template?
