• Hi,
I cannot edit from the Customizer at all. the first set of menus loads ok, though slowly, but once I try to click any menu item (General, Typography, Color, etc) the spinning color wheel kicks in and either hangs or Chrome spits back “Oh Snap, something went wrong”

Doing this on my local environment, OSX 10.10.5, Yosemite. Using MAMP, happens both in Safari and Chrome.
It is only happening in the Make Theme, as I can access Customizer just fine in Twentyfifteen Theme. I have disabled my only plug-in (Jet-Pack).

Wondering if this is happening to anyone else, or any suggestions? I’ve tried Debug in WP-config but debug file is not generated.
    Many thanks

  • I’m having the same issue and can reproduce in Chrome (v56) and Chromium (v58). Thought it might be a browser issue so I created a fresh install of both browsers, even wiped my browser profiles. No luck at all. it still hangs. Annoying thing is the developer tools don’t even properly work because the page hangs completely, so no debugging luck there. In Firefox the customizer works OK. Frustrating.

@peterrknight Sorry I didn’t receive notification of your post somehow. I thought I isolated it to the fact that I was using an external monitor, but then it started happening again…. there must have just been a fluke moment of it working.
FYI- I also tried upgrading to the premium plug-in, this did not solve the issue, neither did deactivating all my other plugins.

I did not try another browser- Thanks for the tip, though I think I may have found a replacement theme instead that I like better afterall.

(ps, I posted on the premium-level support forum over the weekend and still have not heard back… but if I hear back anything promising, I will pass on.)

    good luck!
