Customizer Does Not Load With Child Theme Activated

  • With a child theme activated the customizer does not load.

    Also when I activate our child theme some of the theme settings are reset to default, so I can’t specify my theme settings with the parent theme active and then switch to the child theme.

    We’re using the latest version of the theme, version 1.2.0.

    We’re using the latest version of the Cactus Companion plugin, version 1.0.6.

    We’re using the latest version of WordPress, version 4.9.4.

    We have SSL successfully activated across the entire site using the Really Simple SSL plugin. It is not an option for us to deactivate SSL, the site is required to work with SSL.

    Has the theme been tested with a child theme on the latest version of WordPress?
