customizer doesn’t work

I deleted all the wordpress files, downloaded them again, uploaded them again. But still the same problem. But when opening the site wordpress didn’t ask for an installation. It just opened the site.

The install information is already in the database apparantly.

Did you make a new db while installing the new WP? If not, do it that way.

1. Create a new db.
2. Empty your root (/public_html)
3. Unzip new WP zip in root
4. Run the install
5. Provide new db credentials during install
6. Then check

It still doesn’t work. I deleted the files, downloaded de wordpress files again and uploaded them on the server. The website opened, without installing wordpress again. Apparantly the install information is already in the database.

I cheered to early. I can’t upload media.

And I can’t add new plugins

Do you get asked for FTP details when you try to upload media/install plugins?

The problem is solved. It was the browser Chrome. The support of mij hostserver gave me the tip to try another browser and wordpress worked in Firefox! They advised me to clear the cache in Chrome and that worked too. In the chromebrowser wordpress now works as well.
