• Hi Everyone.

    I am using a WP 4.2.2 Multisite install on Bluehost.

    The customizer worked fine before, but now it stops loading the preview and gives me a “cheatin’ uh?” error message.

    What I have tried so far:
    * emptying site & browser cache
    * deactivating all plugins
    * increasing memory limit
    * wp_debug – got no error messages & nothing in the log
    * switching to Twenty Fifteen theme (I normally use the Total theme)

    Any ideas what could cause this problem and how to fix it?

    Thanks.

  • You are welcome

    The customizer worked fine before,

    Before what?

    Perhaps before your user role got demoted or had capabilities removed?

    It worked fine until a couple of days ago. I updated the Total theme, but since the error persits with other themes, I guess this should not have caused the problem.

    I thought that maybe it was caused by a setting in the WP Super Cache plugin that disables users from changing certain .php files. But I changed that setting back and the error is still there.

    Where can I make sure that my user has sufficient capabilities for the customizer? Where can these be changed?

    I’m having this problem myself – seems only super admin can use the customize which is crazy! Now I’m trying to find where that super admin privilege is
