Customizer Shows “widgets” After WordPress 5.5 Update

    Hello,

    Please, I need your urgent help. I am new to wordpress and I am trying to design a site for my company. Until the latest WordPress update to 5.5, I had no issue with customizing the site. But all that changed with the update.

    The customizer now only loads “widgets” instead of the usual different page or sections of the website for edit.

    I have done all I know, I can`t find any solution yet.

    What should I do to resolve this, please?

  • This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

    If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    @aniash_29 Thank you for the help, really appreciated. I followed the advise you gave and it worked.

    However, the Theme I bought doesn`t work and still shows the “widgets” thing when I click customize. Is there something I need to do to use the ArileWP Pro Theme?

    It is probably best to contact the theme support to understand what are they doing regarding the theme compatibility with WordPress 5.5. Maybe issues like this have already been reported to them and they might have a workaround for you.

    @aniash_29 Thank you so much. I did contact the Theme support and just like you said, they already updated it on their end. I had to download the new version from my account with them. It all looks good now.

    Glad that the issue has been resolved now!
