This has been months, and months of research, I’ve had WordPress Updates come and go and no fix..

I’m trying to get a select few of my websites working ( not all of my websites are affected )since Customizer and the Header ( once worked ) pages have been serving up blank pages. Those pages do not hang, it just goes right to a blank page.

When I used chrome as the browser it did render a 500 error.

My other websites hosted on the same server work perfectly.

    • Disabling all plugins
    • Removing the entire plugins directory by renaming
    • Switching to a different web browser that has no installed extensions
    • Switched themes to 2015 or even paid themes, no luck!
    • Changed folders to 755
    • Searched error logs via FTP and CPanel
    • Re-installed WordPress with latest update(s)
    • Increased memory limit to PHP
    • Replaced TinyMCE
    • Downloaded latest WP and re-installed core files/folders

    Others have suggested:

    • Changing the wp-theme (and its subdirectories), so their group membership is “www-data” and changing the group permissions for those directories to read, write, and execute
    • Modifying wp-config.php by changing
    • define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’,true); to be false.

    • Changing my .htaccess file to allow access to wp-config.php

I have contacted my hosting provider, all they suggested was to hire someone….

Any new suggestions will be appreciated,
    Thanks

    Update,

It seems that I have three websites that are doing this. They are on separate servers. All currently updated to WordPress 4.5.3

One the Visual editor when creating a new post doesn’t work, yet the Customizer still works.

On another the Customizer doesn’t work, nor does the Visual Editor with new post creation.

The third, Visual editor kinda works, Customizer/header page does not.

All were created at different times, two were created years before WordPress 4+ was introduced and the last was just created in May of this year.

Also I’m dealing with two hosting companies, one has replied saying it’s a scripting error, and still working on the issue. While the other immediately washed their hands of the issue as stated above in the original post.
