Customizing Event Registration

First, let me say I love this plugin, I think it’s the best one out there for Events. I just need to further adapt it to my needs. I’m wondering if anyone could help with this:

1. Is it possible to have the date, and a brief description of the event appear on the main events page? To see what I’m referring to, here is a site I’m developing, as you can see on the main events page right now you just see the event titles (it’s too bare bones for me):

2. Is it possible to have the events disappear after the date passes? And can they be archived?
