Customizing Guest Author Meta

  • Hi there,
    I know that there are hooks to customize the User metadata for regular users, but is there a way to do this with the profile fields for Guest Authors?

    For instance, what if I want to remove the AIM, Yahoo, etc fields and replace them with fields for Facebook, Twitter, etc.?

    I have been able to do this by modifying the plugin itself (which I know is a no-no), but I tried writing filters and doing it through functions.php and just couldn’t get it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

  • The way I did it with is ACF and then hide the old stuff we don’t use, without touching the plugins.
