• I’ve been able to customize just about anything I wanted to with WordPress, including adding custom post types, custom taxonomies and custom fields. I seem to figure out how to customize the search pages. I’d like them to look like this page.

I’ve searched this forum and the web and have tried several things, nothing working so far. My theme is a child of twentyten. My site is cindigayrughooking.com

I installed WP Search and it did improve my search results.

*The custom taxonomies are there but I have not set up navigation as of yet. I am waiting until I have the data complete.

  • You need to create a custom search.php template file in your child theme.

The search.php in twentyten usesget_template_part( 'loop', 'search' );Twentyten does not have a loop-search.php. This would be the type of file where I would eliminate the content, add custom taxonomies, etc., right?

If I just need to create loop-search.php, what code do I start with?

Got the base of it figured out. I did not need a search.php, just a loop-search.php. I had tried that before but it did not work. Must have had a mistake that I didn’t see.

Found sample archive code on the WP codex page. I just copied it and now I just need to tweak it.
