    Hi All

You all know the admin theme has not been updated in years and looks dated (even then it was not modern), I was wondering if it was possible to customize the admin theme a little without breaking WP, using a plugin, or having to redo it every time we get a update. I know a few plugins are available but the issue is they get abandoned a lot.

Few things I would like to do when customising to make it somewhat modern.

    1. Able to add custom colours
    2. Add some padding
    3. update the avatar area to be round and update nav to look modern
    4. Custom fonts and text size
    5. custom logo

I have found a few plugins that do still work and add some customization I like but then lack in others also add a lot of bloat

Some of the plugins that do make some changes
    1. WP Adminify – Does give you a nice navbar inc the user avatar but thats it, too much bloat and paywalls and does not change much else.
    2. Space Admin Theme – no longer supported but abandoned, does a nice job of the side bar, adds log but removes the navbar but no customization
    3. Custom Admin UI – good starting point but has been abandoned
    4. Aquila Admin Theme – Does a lot of the work I wanted but I dont like the section label it ads to the navbar, does add some bloat to WP and has been abandoned
    5. Zephyr Admin Theme – good start.

also found – Admin Color Schemes and Admin Custom Font

I dont want to add load of plugins and bloat to make the backend look better

    Any help or advice ?

There are plenty of paid plugins that will do the job and are supported.
