customizing the Blogroll Links Favicon widget?

I’m using this widget and would like to display the icons ONLY. I’m given a choice (with ticker-boxes) of what to display, but even though I’ve only checked the “show link image” box and no others, the “link name” displays as well. If I delete the link name info, the widget displays the URL.

On top of only wanting to display the icons – I’d also like to display them in a ‘grid’ layout; flush against each other on all sides within the sidebar/widget.

I’ve poked around in the files and can’t seem to find (or identify) the code for what displays in this widget. Can anyone direct me to it?

If I can locate that, I can probably figure out how to make it display the way I want it to myself, but I’d be grateful for any help I could get in that department too. I’m still pretty much an amateur at code.
