Customizing the “confirm your email address” content

How do I customize the “confirm your email address” content that appears at the top of the user emails when they first make their account. I have the email editor plugin but it only lets me edit the “Resend Email Confirmation” email template.

I have customized most email templates and currently, the validation link is quite easy to miss at the top of emails.

How do I edit this and is it possible to send this as a separate email automatically as soon as someone signs up?

Also, how can I edit the text that appears on the page when a user tries to access members content before they have confirmed their email, currently this is just a small but of text on a white bar at the top of a blank page.
