• When opening the designer I get the text “Customizing this theme is not allowed.”

So I’m not able to choose different lay-outs or do anything else. What can I do?

I use a theme I designed in themler.

  • Hey,
If your theme is blocking the customizer then your theme is doing something outside of what WordPress standards are, there isn’t anything we can do on our end to fix or override a theme that is breaking WordPress core features. You can temporarily activate a normal theme and edit the emails in the customizer but I can’t offer any other suggestions.

Thanks. I managed to bypass this by loading a different theme. Are there guidelines to set my own developed theme to support your plugin?

Hey, There are no guidelines because it should work with any theme. If it’s not working with a theme it means the theme is doing something wrong and outside of WordPress standards. So it’s not a thing of needing to add support it’s about finding what the theme is doing wrong that is breaking the core WordPress customizer.

    Does that make sense?
