• I’m currently going through a class at my local community college to learn WordPress which brings me here for advanced questions.

My question is how to customize the social media buttons or in general the button logos that show on the upper right of the page.

I’ve installed the theme Iconic One by Themeonic (https://www.ads-software.com/themes/iconic-one) to my site.

  • Have you tried asking in the Iconic One’s theme forum here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/iconic-one ?

Otherwise, your best option would be to create a child theme and create a copy of the header.php file from the original Iconic One theme into your child theme folder, open this copy of the header.php file with a text editor/code editor and locate where in the code these social network buttons show up. Then start carefully editing this file and your child theme’s CSS stylesheet to get what you need. All the above is just a hunch and I haven’t gone over the Iconic One theme’s code and so what I propose above may not actually work – a lot depends on how the theme was structured and developed. Anyway, hope this helps!

Yes Bemdesign this helps quite a bit as I didn’t know where to start, now I have ideas of where to go with my interest of making these modifications versus just pondering it over.

Thank you for the step by step breakdown for the child theme modification, I’ll definitely be doing both.

    Thank you!
