• How would I modify the slider to just show a static image but have text fade in and out over it. I found the instructions for changing the slide transition to fade which kind of works. I am using the same image for each slide so it appears static, though it slides in at the beginning. Is there a clean way to set the background image as static and then to have the text fade in and out?

    thanks,

  • A cheap workaround might be to set up 3 (or whatever) images in your slider using the same Image but different text in each.

Then use the Fader snippet and don’t see why that wouldn’t work. Saves you having to create more CSS.

Seems to be working fine just like that. An alternative would be to burn the text into each iteration of the image before uploading – but some text sharpness would be lost and changing it down the line would be a bore.

Visually it might look even more effective if the grey text panel could be the same size on each slider. Not sure if it’s possible to specify dimensions for that panel though. If not, maybe the slider text box recognises &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; etc — although I guess that’s doubtful since it didn’t recognise <br> when I tried it once.

I have a question about this configuration. I am using the slider with the same static image on 15 slides. Only the text is different, and I am using the “Fader snippet”. When the homepage is loaded, all 15 images are downloaded even though it is the same image. Is there a way to configure it so that only one copy of the image is downloaded?
