[Customizr] thumbnail expanding

I am using Customizr theme. As a newbie I hope I can explain my request correctly.
On the front page the latest posts are displayed. Post have thumbnail images displayed on the front-page that when you hover over them they expand (lightbox?).
When expanded the image look great but without the hover or expand the thumbnail image is cut-off. I assume this is normal behavior (?) but is there a way I can show the entire thumbnail image prior to hovering over it? Or remove the expand on hover option and always show the full thumbnail image.
