custom fields

  • I’m new to custom fields. I want to create a site for a musician friend.

    He has about six different genres he wants to use as different pages on his site. On each page he will have 5-10 entries. So every page will be blog-like.

    In each entry will be..
    1- a photo
    2- a description
    3- a music player

    I would like for him to be able to possibly use custom fields to upload a new entry. Is this possible with custom fields? Do I have to create a blog for every page? Or is there an easier way to achieve this?

  • I would suggest that you use categories for the site. You can assign a category to a page using the Page Links To plugin.

    You can see an example of its use at BluegrassMiataClub.com. All of the pages under ‘Ads and More’ and ‘Good Stuff’ are handled this way.

    Then, to add a new entry on a page, just create a post and assign it to the correct category – done!
