Cutting down on spam

    I’m getting a couple hundred comment spams per day. a lot are coming from the same IP addresses. is there anything i can do to either filter out certain IP’s or otherwise filter out some of this spam.

    im getting tired of sorting through rape porn to find my real comments.

    are you using the akismet plugin? That would be the first suggestion.

    If that doesn’t take care of all of it, then try using the bad behavior plugin in addition to it.

    Block the IP address with your htacess file:

    https://www.clockwatchers.com/htaccess_block.html

    ok, so i have the same problem. its totally out of control but im not sure if its from the same IP or not. how does one find out what IP the spam/comments are coming from?

    i just enabled the aksmit plugin so hopefully that’ll help but is there any way to see where the comments/spam are coming from?

    lastly, how can i mass delete all the crappy spam that clogging up my comments right now. the issue is not all my comments are spam, some are valid comments i want to keep. so then how do i selecting mass delete a ton of comments/spam?
