Daily Bible Widget not Working

You are right this is not an issue connected to your website.

My server had some connectivity issues for a few minutes (about 14 hours ago).

I think your website tried to retrieve the daily Bible verse while my server was having issues. An error was returned instead of the daily Bible verse. The plugin is supposed to get the daily Bible verse once a day, and save it on your website (otherwise it would slow down every request to your website).

I think the plugin didn’t detect the error correctly and saved it (as if it was a Bible verse) instead of retrying to get the verse after a while.

I think it will start working again tomorrow when a new verse will be requested. You can try to switch the widget to another Bible translation for today (then it will need to request the daily Bible verse from my website).

I will investigate why my plugin didn’t work as intended and fix this.

Yes you were right in suggesting a different Bible translation as the NIV version is the one showing the error message, so have chosen the KJV. Hopefully it’ll resolve itself tomorrow.

Thank you for your reply. Now I know my suspicions were correct. I am going to update my plugin to prevent this from happening again.

I have released a new version of the plugin. In this version, this issue can’t happen again.
