I have a site with both heavy traffic as well as a lot of content (+100k posts & +400k images in the media gallery). I am using JetPack to allow for authors to be able to use the wp.com mobile app to author posts. Every option for JetPack in it’s settings page is turned off. However event then every morning around 10am PST the site shows a significant cpu/db spike related to JetPack activity.

Why is it still having that kind of load when we’re not using it for anything (backups, related posts, etc) / is there a way to suppress this, or if not, to be able to adjust it’s daily timers?

You definitely shouldn’t have any CPU/DB spikes while using Jetpack, much less while everything is off.

Would you mind letting us know how you tracked down the cause to Jetpack? That should help us track down the cause too.
