I recently installed your plugin and still trying to understand its ins and outs. I see an accordion fold below a post being edited. Its heading says “Daily Traffic Trend” and an error message follows: Error connecting to WordPress REST API. Disable ad-blocker for this page or unblock /wp-json/wp-statistics/v2/metabox in the ad-blocker configuration.

What is the meaning of the message and what would it do below a post edit window if it were working?

    Thank you,

    Cemal

    Hi @acekin

Thank you for opening this thread.

This error is due to the use of Ad-blocker such as uBlock or DNS services that block Ad/Trackers. If you are using such tools, please consider disabling them for your website.

Additionally, the guide below provides detailed explanations on this matter.
Fixing WP Statistics Plugin Issues Caused by Ad Blockers

I hope this guide can help you resolve the issue.

Thank you for your explanation. I gathered it might be uBlock and made sure it was disabled. But the error persisted. I was wondering if there was a way to disable that accordion tab. Or, if I decide to continue using WP Statistics, I may learn to ignore it. That is a little too much information if you ask my opinion.

    Take care,

Please check if there are any errors in the browser console?

To disable the widget in the dashboard, click on the Screen Options in the top right corner and deactivate the Daily Traffic Trend option.

For the post editing page, you can also disable the Chart Metabox Views option in the Statistics – Settings – Basic Tracking path.
