  • Try looking in a subdirectory called WUFC_moved_files. Apparently they don’t get deleted but moved there.

Let us know if they really are deleted – I’d be interested too…

I uninstalled the plugin before I could check but I doubt the files were moved anywhere before that because the size of the WP installation on the server-side dropped from 1.25 GB to 0.75 GB. Plus, the subdirectory would only serve part of the problem given that the reference to the files were also deleted (eg. I had to code back the path to the logo on the main page).

Too bad my auto-backup and performance cache failed me on that one – I found out about the damage once my roll-back version had already been replaced with a bad apple.

Files are not deleted but moved like nchaud explained in the folder WUFC_moved_files

If you like, you can try the plugin I made. It’s called WP Media Cleaner, and I am willing to make it better and better + and I am a very responsive developer (I promise). I didn’t try this one since it obviously has terrible issues and the developer is not here to help.

Thanks for this kind of comment, without testing the plugin, only to introduce yours ! That’s a way of living …

Sorry, I didn’t thought you were the developer and that the developer was actually not giving any answers. Really sorry for that!

I didn’t try the plugin but read the code a few weeks back. I actually didn’t install it because of what I read. Don’t take it wrong but the code really needs to be checked and probably rewritten. It doesn’t follow the WordPress programming rules, and you obviously didn’t check how the WP internal functions were working exactly before using them. It feels like you wrote it in Java also :p

Again, it’s not a challenge, we are not making money at selling plugins here. I would have preferred that your plugin would have fit my need and expectancy so that I don’t lose time programming a new one. Don’t take it wrong ?? But I am really sorry (again!) that I didn’t realised that you were here – but still, you aren’t much on the others support threads.

    Gentlemen:

Both plugins are not perfect at the moment, but we need this kind of plugin. Please continue the development!
