    Hi,
We just updated the Goole Site Kit plugin to 1.49.0 and right after it in 1 hour the Admin dashboard and login pages became super slow and do not open.
We had to goto to FTP and remove the Sitekit by google plugin to get back into our dashboard.

Please check, your plugin before this update was good, but after update, it is causing our wordpress admin panel and dashboard to become painfully slow.
    Hope you solve this soon

    Hi there @m3gadeath,

Sorry to hear you’ve been encountering performance issues with your wp-admin dashboard. We’re always looking at ways to improve performance on the Site Kit dashboards, with cached responses, resources only requested on the Site Kit dashboard URLs and minified content all some of the methods we use to achieve this.

In your case I’d be happy to check your setup if you wish. We’re aware there are other plugins that also request the Google Chart library API scripts, which could cause cause delays. It could also be other conflicts such as blocks generating your PageSpeed Insights score.

In order to check your particular setup please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Did you uninstall the plugin straight away after the delay, or perform additional checks? If so have you checked for the same issue using another browser?

Once we have the above information I’d be happy to check your setup and provide some additional checks to perform if you’re willing to setup the plugin once more.

    Hello James,
    Thanks for the reply.
We use NewsPapper Theme with plugins like Yoast and WP Rocket.

We tried a few things before we removed the Site Kit plugin. We tried increasing PHP memory limit etc. But nothing worked.

As soon as we removed the Site Kit Plugin, everything became normal for us. In fact a little faster.

Have sent you the site health info as well.
Thanks, hope you find a solution soon.

Update: We rolled back the update to 1.48.1 and everything is working perfectly fine. Hope the next update of Sitekit is a stable one.

Many thanks for the update. I’ll check with the team for any possible changes that may have impacted performance. I’m not aware of any possible cause however I will report back to you here once I have an update. In the meantime while awaiting a response from the team I’ll do some performance testing from wp-admin panel while also checking for any additional http requests between both versions.

@m3gadeath Hi there! Can you please try updating to our most recent version, 1.49.1, and see if you’re still experiencing slowness?

    Hi @m3gadeath,

Just to keep you updated I’ve done some performance testing and I don’t encounter any different between both Site Kit versions you referenced. The network requests are the same between both versions on the primary Site Kit dashboard.

If you’d like to update to the latest version please do so, after which let us know if you notice any changes in performance. When checking please do so from a Chrome browser incognito window.
