Dashboard: An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.

  • I cannot access any page of my WordPress backend. Each page displays this message and nothing else:

    An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.

    I activated Akismet yesterday, prior to which everything was working fine. Is this an installation issue or a web hosting issue? Do I need a port opened?
