    In ws-admin receiving blank dashboard.
    Inspect > Console
2 errors (the same): (salmon pink background))
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘getContext’ of null dashchart-widget.js?ver=4.9.12:167

    1 error: (light blue background)
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘length’ of null Chart.bundle.js?ver=4.9.12:8235

Haven’t been to wp-admin for a while, but the last change I made in my hosting cPanel was adding a new site (not wordpress) which I incorrectly inserted into folder public_html and then deleted.
The front end of this site and the new site are both working correctly.

Appreciate any help getting the WordPress dashboard back,
    Thanks

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Hi, deactivated all plugins, changed theme from generatepress to twentyseventeen – no change – still have a blank dashboard column apart from Dashboard, Profile and collapse menu.
Also tried restoring my wordpress installation backup from 5 days ago (oldest backup I have), but no luck – so something must have happened before that.
Any other ideas what to try to restore the dashboard?
    Thanks

    Hi @blogdropper

Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Jasper,
    Thanks for this.
Just followed this to replace wordpress except for wp-content.
But still seeing blank dashboard – front end ok.
    Any other ideas?

Hi, After reinstalling the latest WordPress there was a Tooltip Pro Login at the top of the page, which I clicked and arrived at a page selling Tooltip Pro, returned to my dashboard page and suddenly all the items that had disappeared magically reappeared.
    No idea what happened.
    Thanks for your help
