So after upgrading WordPress to version 4.4, my Dashboard went blank. I can login and my site still displays properly, but I cannot access anything in my dashboard.

    I’ve tried:

    • Renaming plugins folder – Greeted with W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /hermes/bosnaweb04a/b310/{site}/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
    • Deleted W3TC info from .htaccess
    • No more error – Dashboard still blank
    • Renamed advanced-cache.php
    • Renamed w3-total-cache folder in plugins
    • Renamed cache folder in wp-content
    • Renamed w3tc-config folder in wp-content

Still have a blank dashboard. :/

  • Have you checked your PHP error log, or turned on error logging via wp-config?

Update: I get an Internal Server Error when I try to edit any pages or posts.

And that’s the next step, cagsmith. I’m in the middle of a full backup right now. I don’t want to do a manually update, but I will if I have to.

This problem still exists. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Should I do a manual update of WordPress?

    Hi there,

    Try this:

    1. Cleanup .htaccess (remove W3TC additions)
    2. Remove W3TC delcaration from the top of wp-config.php
    3. Delete/rename index.html from site root (if exists) – but not index.php

Does it work now? Can you provide link to site?

    Cheers

    Hello,

    .htaccess had already been cleared.

I was really hopeful for the W3TC declarations in wp-config.php. Sadly, the dashboard is still blank after they were removed.

    index.html was n/a

    The site is https://www.roamingshoresoh.gov/

Hello, was this issue ever resolved? If so please share. I have run into a similar issue.

I ended up doing a manual reinstall of WordPress and getting rid of W3TC. All has been well since.

files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/kashyoaz/public_html/akfoodequipments.com/wp-content/db.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/kashyoaz/public_html/akfoodequipments.com/wp-content/object-cache.php

someone can tell me how to remove this issue

I have got the same problem with my website can anyone help with this. I tried all the above but nothing helps.

This is just driving me crazy. I have got the same problem can anyone help with my garden fencing website? https://www.gardenfencinglondon.com/ I cant even login to my WP control panel.

    Can anyone help please ASAP

    Thanks!

Okay i’ve tried everything mentioned here except a full manual re install of wordpress! Still getting this error

W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/public_html/wp-content/db.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php.

There must be some kind of possibility to fix this without re install wordpress!!!!

My site is on a Studiopress Genesis framework and child theme, if I re install wordpress will I have to re install the framework and themes and reconfigure?

The manual reinstall is the route I took when nothing else worked. It really wasn’t that big of a process, just scary if it’s your first time. Follow the Instructions
