Dashboard errors after updating to 1.93.0
-
Site Kit 1.93.0 was released last week. This release included a fix for sites using internationalized domain names (IDN). The fix involves the use of a specific PHP module. This module may not be enabled by default and in some circumstances may cause errors on the wp-admin dashboard on some environments.
We will have a fix for this included with the next plugin release. In the meantime we do have a mini plugin that can be used to ensure no Site Kit related dashboard errors appear. If you experience any wp-admin dashboard errors since updating to Site Kit 1.93.0, you can download and install the plugin as a standard WordPress plugin (using the upload method – Plugins > Install > Upload Plugin > Activate). After installation and activation these errors should no longer appear.
Alternatively, users can enable the mbstring PHP module to resolve this. If you’re on a shared hosting plan you may need to reach out to your hosting provider for assistance with this.
