  • @karlee how did you do that?

I called Go Daddy and they said that it is a word press issue not a go daddy issue. They checked my account and everything was okay.
I too, cannot get into my wordpress admin dashboard after updating to 3.4.2.
    How to I fix?

Same problem…..after doing the automatic update, I can not access the dashboard.

I’ve tried all of the above except for the maintenance thing because I don’t seem to have a maintenance plugin, and I’m still unable to access the dashboard. But I’ve been having a lot of issues with the site lately, so maybe this was the straw that broke the back. https://purefilmcreative.com

I typed into Chrome https://inbackstagewith.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php and was told the page is not found.

BTW, if I type https://inbackstagewith.com/wp-login.php to log into my blog, I can indeed login but can’t access the admin of my blog. I see the grey top nav bar too but still no access. What the actual f*ck ?

upgrade.php is accessible through FTP (via your host, like godaddy)

    @thea8899

I found the PHP file. It was in “/ > wp-admin > includes” Now what ?

    Sorry for being dense.

Im with godaddy and had the same problem all day, fixed it now by logging into the godaddy account and selecting the WordPress application and it asked me whether I wanted to install the update.

I did and then got an email to say it has been installed and reloaded my website and it let me log in as usual.

Hope it works for you all too.

I just got off the phone with Go Daddy. I was able to reinstall the wordpress 3.4.2 update from the Go Daddy site…with a patch that was provided for me there as well.
Keeping my fingers crossed waiting for the email update to let me know if the patch worked and my dashboard admin site is back up.
It seems to me…hey I am a newbee at web sites…that there is a bug or something in the wordpress admin dashboard when you click to update to the 3.4.2.
    Keep you all posted.

    Paul,

Thank you for posting that information. I updated from the Go Daddy site and now I am able to access the dashboard once again.

I get the update now oke. The dutch version.

It turned out to be a Godaddy issue for me. Apparently they are rolling out some sort of patch, but if you need immediate help, give them a call.

So, if you couldn’t access your blog after you updated your WordPress to the version 3.4.2, updating it via GoDaddy worked things out ? I wanna be sure.

    it seems to work yes
