    Hi.

Last night I was updating a theme. I use Artisteer on my computer so when I edit a theme (change fonts etc), I export the zip file to my desktop then upload it via the WordPress theme installer.

So I’m doing this successfully until last night, when WordPress stopped functioning. When I press Upload from within the installer, it just stays on that screen (the upload box doesn’t appear).

    My dashboard is also html-only.

So this morning I uninstall WordPress and reinstall. It is still html-only and still can’t update or change anything.

I’ve cleared my browser cache, installed php.ini in wp-admin with a memory increase to 256m (just in case), but the problem remains.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

All I can say is thank goodness because mine is doing the same sort of stuff since last night too and I can’t work it out. Sorry – no advice on solutions, but this seems to be a widespread problem based on the recent comments on the support forum

The link to my site just shows the standard WordPress installation, as that’s as far as I can get atm.

I don’t mind other people commenting that they have the same problem, it kind of helps to know it’s not just me, but anyway, you’re the mod :).

I manage sites for a few people. I just logged into another client’s site and the same thing is happening. Both sites on same host and both opened in the last couple of months.

I logged into another client’s site who is hosted on the same host, but a couple of years old, and there’s no problem.

Another client’s site is hosted on a different host and has no problems.

The other site it is happening to is:

This one I haven’t touched for a few days, but logging into the dashboard reveals the same problem. Site is functioning though.

Do you get the same results running the twenty thirteen theme?

    Thread Starter GregR71

    (@gregr71)

That’s a fresh install at jd. I can’t change anything. If that’s Twenty Thirteen that is the default theme, then yes, the dash is still a mess with that theme.

If I can add a message, I am having the same problem, deleted and reinstalled WP in my Cpanel, (lost my content unfortunately) and have the default theme now (Twenty Thirteen I guess, same than yours Greg)

    Problem still remains, html only…

I am very grateful as well about any advice!!!

It’s nice to know that it’s not my site that is the problem. Geebeede, you are with Crazy Domains?

If you’ve had that content on there for a while, sometimes you can copy and paste it from:

I’ve just tried https://www.jdpartydecorations.com.au/ and got DNS not found.

Humor me, can you post the IP address of your site if you know it? I’ll put that IP into my hosts table like so.

    1.2.3.4 www.jdpartydecorations.com.au

And see if I can connect to your installation and view posts.

Regarding https://www.artonomy.com.au/ can you try those steps I’ve posted?

Try the usual troubleshooting 101 steps. These are temporary steps and you can undo them afterwards.

    – Switch to the Twenty Thirteen theme

    – Deactivate all of your plugins

    – Clear your browser’s cache and cookies

    – Login to your WordPress installation and see if the dashboard is now behaving.

I can’t change anything, the links that are the dashboard don’t respond.

I did those steps with jdpartydecorating, by renaming the plugin folder but got stuck there, so i just did a clean install of wordpress. Now it’s stuck like that, default theme, can’t change it to anything else.

I might be able to change to one that’s in the WordPress database, but the option to upload one from my computer doesn’t respond. It just stays on that screen.
